| Playing Copied Games on Xbox |
|
Most people are still excited about playing the Xbox 360 even if they’ve had the gaming console for a while. Games available for the console are full of graphics and offer a running story line to accommodate the action they offer. Games are expensive and gamers are constantly trying to figure out a way around dishing out lots of cash for a new game or two. Many have turned to playing copied games as an alternative to buying new ones. Most serious gamers, who have invested money in their collection of games, back them up. This ensures they will still be able to play their favorite games if they become damaged. If you are interested in playing copied games on Xbox 360 and do not want to modify your machine, use cogswap or swap magic, then there is another solution.
You cannot burn a copy of your favorite game in a standard DVD/CD burner and expect it to work. The original disks come with a boot sequence hardcoded directly onto the disk. When burning a copy of your game like you would a cd, there is no way to copy the boot sequence onto the new disk. Your game will not load and your console will not even recognize the disk you have inserted in the drive. The good news is there are two solutions to this problem. There is now software available for download on the internet. This software allows you to burn the boot up sequence onto your new disk. Basically, the software works like an ordinary DVD/CD burner. When copying ISO files onto your disk, the boot sequence is copied along with it. This software works great for the Xbox 360 but will not work on the Xbox. For those of you with no interest in downloading the software you can still play copies of games available for download on the internet. Straight from the manufacturers of Xbox 360, downloadable demo games are available to you. Simply go to the Xbox 360 website and download the games, then burn them on a disk. The boot sequence is encrypted and embedded in the gaming program allowing you to play the game without a hitch. Some gamers choose to modify their consoles in order to play copied games by using a modulation chip. This may sound easy enough, but there are a few things you should consider before modifying your machine. The biggest perhaps, is the fact that your Xbox 360 will no longer be under warranty. You won’t even be able to call customer support to ask for their help. Why? Modifying your console is considered tampering with it and any type of tampering to the machine voids its warranty. Also, the modulation chip has been known to damage a gaming console or two and can be complicated to use for those with little experience in the matter.
Modifying your gaming console is not recommended. Too many gamers have learned the hard way that after inserting a modulation chip, their consoles were irreparably damaged. Download the appropriate software or play a demo instead to save the integrity of your machine.
